Hi! I’m Randy and I’m a strategist and advisor who helps leaders turn ideas into structures that work, pairing deep reflection with decisive action.

I’m at my best when something is big and still undefined, like a new initiative, a reorganization, or a question that hasn’t been fully framed. I take that and return with a plan that is clear, complete, and ready to act on. I listen across many perspectives, take time to understand how work actually happens, and build the systems, processes, and evidence that help people move forward together. People know what to do next, decisions move faster, and teams work towards the same goals. Much of the effort happens behind the scenes, but the results show up in how smoothly things run.

I hold a PhD in quantitative psychology and began my career in institutional research. Today, I lead strategic initiatives in the Dean’s Office of UC Irvine’s Dunlop School of Biological Sciences. There I’ve guided new academic departments and degree programs through faculty governance, supported a school-wide redesign of administrative services, and built the models and tools that inform staffing, space, and process decisions.

I also pursue an artistic practice in floral design through Sensitive Flora, creating installations that explore movement, structure, and the balance between wildness and restraint. In both practices, I look closely at something complex and give it a clear, intentional form.

Beyond floral design, I’m drawn to symbolic systems such as astrology and tarot, and to the ways people use them to reflect, find patterns, and make meaning.
